THEA 327 - Commedia dell’ Arte

Commedia dell’ Arte or the “comedy of art” or “comedy of professionals”, was developed in the 15th century and known for its comic performance principles founded in the art of improvisational comedy. Performers created archetype characters through the use of mask, physical comedy, and developed structured scenarios known as “cannovaccio.”
