ANTH 222 - Africa Experience

This will be a January term regional study abroad course in Africa that takes students seasonally to different African countries as a part of a study abroad experience. Students will get to learn about the immense diversity in cultural practices within and between seemingly homogenous groups. Students will learn, among other things, how, for instance, the Maasi of Kenya differ in certain cultural aspects from the Maasi of Tanzania, the demographic and occupational diversity between rural and urban communities, and the different socializing expectations between city and village residents.
