ENGL 360 - The Origins of American Literature

The colonial period through the early republic. Consideration is given to the ways in which American literary expression began to concern itself with unique forms and ideas, in such writers as Bradford, Bradstreet, Wheatley, Edwards, Franklin, Brown, Irving, and Cooper.
