INTD 221 - Globalization and the Environment Who ought to control the earth’s resources? What ought to be the goal of resource use? What is at stake in competing visions of our global future? This course examines the science and the social science behind these questions and their varied answers, with particular attention paid to the environmental and social consequences of water use and food production in a global economy. Topics to be covered include the Green Revolution, biodiversity, genetic engineering, health, hydroelectric power, water privatization, subsistence farming, international trade, and immigration.
