REL 351 - Religion and Politics in the United States This course examines religious communities and themes in recent U.S. history, society, and politics since 1870. Topics include civil religion, Mormonism, African American as well as Latino/a traditions, religious approaches to prosperity and poverty, the rise of religious fundamentalisms, the roles of women in public religion, and intersections between religion and politics, especially the U.S. presidency.
