SPAN 485 - Subaltern Voices, Diversity & Marginalization This course explores literature and cultural production in Spain, Latin America and Hispanic American works from diverse theoretical approaches: feminism, cultural theory, subaltern status, and gay and lesbian studies. Students will examine how texts redefine literary forms when writing confronts the process of empowerment of minorities through racial, ethnic, and textual terms.
Pre-req: SPAN 355 or SPAN 356 3 credits
