EDUC 531 - Assessment of Students with Exceptionalities


Candidates will examine formal and informal assessments used to effectively evaluate the academic, functional, and behavioral needs of students with and without disabilities for the purpose of making informed instructional, intervention, and placement decisions. Emphasis is placed on cultural and linguistic considerations for appropriate assessment administration and the use of various approaches to assess developmental, academic, behavioral, social, communication, and life skills of students. Individuals taking this course must earn at least a B- in order for the course to count towards preliminary credential. *10 hours of fieldwork required
