BIOL 345 - Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy

A comparative analysis of vertebrate morphology with an emphasis on how form relates to function. Students will trace the evolution of vertebrate characters and examine how morphology may be explained by phylogeny, environmental pressures, ontogeny, and/or individual variation. The laboratory will involve detailed anatomical study of representative vertebrates with an emphasis on form and function.
