EJST 357 - Systems Thinking for a World Out of Balance Who ought to control the earth’s resources? What ought to be the goals of resource use? What is at stake in competing perspectives on the environment and ecosystems? This course examines the science and the social science behind these questions and the answers to them, with particular attention paid to the COVID-19 pandemic, the global climate crisis, and industrial agriculture. We will focus the course on “thinking in systems” as a method for understanding the systems that produced these global crises, with a common course goal of building a healthier and happier world for everyone and for the environment.
