ECON 205 - Introduction to Quantitative Methods This is a course in quantitative methods for economics. It covers basic mathematical, quantitative, computing and statistical tools for the study of economics. The emphasis is on economic applications. Successful completion of this course provides an understanding of mathematical/statistical topics and techniques such as algebraic manipulation, simultaneous equations, optimization, descriptive statistics, probability theory, and regression analysis. This understanding will allow students to better apply mathematical and statistical techniques to economic problems. Not open to students who have completed MATH 080
Pre-req: MATH 076 , MATH 079 , or a minimum score of 2 on the Math placement test.
