GEN 263 - Love and Lust in the Chinese Tradition A multimedia survey of the various themes and representations of love in Chinese poetry, short fiction, novels, and film. Topics of investigation and discussion will include the unique Chinese heritage of polygamy, arranged marriage, and homosexuality, among others. The course is taught using materials in English translation, so no knowledge of Chinese is required. Students with proficiency in the language are encouraged to do the readings in Chinese.
