EDUC 536 - Instructional Methods for Students with Extensive Support Needs
This course provides candidates with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to develop and implement systematic instructional strategies and programs to meet the needs of students with extensive support needs. Emphasis will be placed on the importance of assessing and developing student profiles of unique strengths and needs, learning characteristics and styles, and behavioral needs for the development of effective programs aligned with evidenced-based strategies for intervention and support. An overview of writing individualized education plans that concentrate on transition planning for students with extensive support needs is provided. Individuals taking this course must earn at least a B- for the course to count toward a preliminary credential. *40 hours of fieldwork required.
