ART 201 - Digital Video This course focuses on the production of fine art digital video art utilizing the latest advancements in digital technologies like DSLR video cameras and non-linear digital editing. Instruction will include how to use digital video cameras, and authoring and editing software. This course will examine the way in which contemporary artists have used film and video to make artwork and will also attempt to clarify the current condition of contemporary video art. Discussions, screenings, fieldtrips and readings will help students understand the most prominent modes of video art over the past forty years, providing a rich context within which to complete class assignments.
Pre-req: ART 100 or ART 210 recommended 3 credits
