SPAN 460 - Spanish Voices: The Twentieth Century From the turn of the century to our present time, Spanish literature has enjoyed an artistic explosion, the likes of which has not been seen since the Golden Age. A profusion of literary movements - including the Generation of ‘98, modernism and avant-garde - reflected the creative vibrancy of the nation even as it slipped into political and social chaos. Major works of prose, poetry and theater are analyzed for their literary innovativeness and relationship to ideological trends and social reality in contemporary Spanish letters.
