WCHL 250 - Healthcare and Society The goal of this course is to help students understand how societal factors such as poverty, race and ethnicity, gender, and other factors impact the spread of a disease and the type of healthcare to which a person has and receives. Students will gain a theoretical understanding of how these factors impact healthcare issues, and then they will explore how these factors interface with one another with regards to two diseases: AIDS and Cardiovascular Disease.
