Gregory R. Woirol, The Douglas W. Ferguson Professor of Economics and Business Administration
Economics is the social science concerned about the practices, institutions, and customs societies have developed to produce and distribute goods and services. It employs a logical and ordered approach to understanding how economies work and how to deal with pressing social issues and problems. In encouraging an appreciation of the way in which economists think about and approach issues, the study of economics is rewarding in itself and is an excellent background for a wide variety of careers, including law, business, and government. The program is designed to provide a rigorous course of study for those interested in pursuing graduate work in economics. ProgramsCourses
