Music minors are expected to participate in departmental activities and to attend music department performances. A minor must be declared upon enrolling in MUS 203 Music History I .

Requirements

A minimum of 18 credits in the discipline:

MUS 070 - Introduction to Music Theory & Musicianship 3 credits
MUS 100H - Harmony I 3 credits
MUS 100M - Musicianship I 1 credits
MUS 203 - Music History I 3 credits
MUS 204 - Music History II 3 credits
MUS 111 - Introduction to Music Notation Software 2 credits
The department may waive the MUS 070 requirement if a student can demonstrate adequate music theory skills upon entrance to the program.  However, 3 credits of alternative work within the music curriculum must be completed to fulfill the Music Minor requirements.

Ensembles

Complete six semesters of:

MUS 018 - College Choir 0-1 credits
MUS 051 - Chamber Singers/ Bella Voice 0-1 credits

Private Instruction

Complete six semesters of:

MUS 198 - Private Instruction 0-2 credits
