The minor in Data Science will be eight courses (26 credits). This minor is comparable in size to the Physics minor (as similarly, there are mathematics or computer science prerequisites to certain DATA courses). The minor includes seven required courses that are currently offered yearly, if not semesterly, and one elective that initially will come from MATH, COSC or DATA, preferably DATA. As with the major, we welcome contributions to the electives from other departments (as applicable), yet we do not depend on any more courses for the purposes of establishing the Data Science minor.
