HIST 363 - Socialism & Revolution in Modern Europe Explores the relationship between socialism and revolution. Begins with the radical idealism of the French Revolution, continues with the French and British utopian socialists of the 1830s and 1840 and then follows socialism and revolution in Europe through the development of Marxism and working-class political organizations, the Paris Commune of 1871, the Russian Revolution of 1917, and the events of May 1968.
