ANTH 380 - Medical Anthropology

Medical anthropology examines the cultural dimensions of health, illness, medicine, disease, and healing. It explores the role of social inequalities in health outcomes and focuses on cross-cultural interpretation of language, symbols, and practices related to health. Medical anthropology is invested in a critical examination of the body as impacted by the environment, social structures, access to technology, gender, sexuality, ethnicity, and class.
