EDUC 436 - Character & Instructional Practices for Moderate to Severe Disabilities This course will provide a knowledge base and opportunities for candidates to develop and implement systematic instructional strategies and programs to meet the needs of students with extensive support needs. Emphasis will be placed on the importance of assessing and developing student profiles of unique strengths and needs, learning characteristics and styles, and behavioral needs for the development of effective programs aligned with evidenced-based strategies for intervention and support. Individuals taking this course must earn at least a B- in order for the course to count towards preliminary credential. *10 hours of fieldwork required Requires Certificate of Clearance (CoC)
