SPAN 470 - Latin American Voices: The Twentieth Century Critical study of selected contemporary Spanish-American texts in light of current modes of writing and interpretation. This course will delineate the major patterns of formal and thematic development within the history of Latin America letters as well as emphasize the analysis of structural and linguistic problems posed by the texts. This course will also explore such tendencies as realism, surrealism and “magic realism,” as well as works of social conscience, revolution and the national situation.
Pre-req: SPAN 355 or SPAN 356 3 credits
